Last year we introduced you to Craig and Christina. A couple from Northampton who have kindly let us blog about their wedding planning.
We’ve been keeping up with Christina and Craig finding out what they have been up to and how the planning is coming along now there’s less than 8 months to go!!
Well, they have been busy little bees!
Christina has now finalised her dress which is bespoke and from The Couture Company. The Couture Company specialise in custom made, alternative and unique bespoke bridal wear. They get to know each of their brides and design a dress to suit their personality and theme. They make the dresses in house too, using flattering patterns and techniques they have learnt from years in the business. They are one of the very best of quirky bridal and are about to celebrate their 25th anniversary! (Link below for further information) For obvious reasons we won’t go into details about the dress in this blog (we cannot trust Craig to keep his eyes closed!) but Christina let me in on the secret and from how it’s been described, it’s going to rock their wedding!
They have also finalised some of the smaller details such as the autumnal colours and accessories for the day which is in October. Christina and Craig always said they wanted an American country style twist to the rustic theme of the day and with some small details they will achieve this. They have thought carefully about making the two themes merge with burgundies and oranges as well as cowboy boots and hats, but not necessarily in the way you might assume! Argh it’s so hard keeping it all under wraps! We can only give away little hints as we want the day to be a surprise for their guests.
The couple have given out most of their save the dates now, which are so cute, little wooden hearts to pin on the fridge! No one is forgetting their date, especially if you visit the fridge as often as I do! There are so many unique ways to create your save the dates now rather than just a card that can easily be lost or thrown away.
Christina has been savvy with her budget and managed to grab some fantastic bargains in the sales including her invitations, which shows if you want something and wait, you might just get a great deal at the right time of year. Waiting can be really hard, especially when you see what you’d like right there in front of you. We would advise that if it’s something you can buy, rather than book, it’s often worth seeing if it goes on offer. Here at Little Wishes Hire we often hold last minute deals, but this is a risk, as the dates book up quickly and we are already taking bookings for 2019! So not putting your deposit down means you risk losing out. However, if you are waiting to see what’s left of your budget before deciding on any extras, you will almost certainly get a great price if your dates available.
One thing I asked Christina was whether she has learnt much from her planning so far that might benefit others going through the same process this year, she said;
“Take it as it comes, don’t stress too much, everything will work out as it should be”
I think this is the best advise that could be offered to any engaged couple.... or just in general life!
We will catch up again with Mr & Mrs ‘Buttercup’ in the late summer as their date approaches its final weeks.
Thank you for reading,
With Love From Little Wishes Hire
